About Dart Marine Academy

Essential navigation and seamanship course. Heres what we cover.

Our essential navigation and seamanship course covers sea navigation and general seamanship is typically known as a “Day Skipper” course, particularly those offered by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) or similar maritime organisations.

The RYA Day Skipper Theory, for example, is designed to teach aspiring skippers the basics of coastal and inshore navigation, pilotage, chart work, seamanship, meteorology, and the essentials of safety at sea. This comprehensive course is suitable for both sail and powerboat handlers and aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to safely and confidently command a vessel in familiar waters by day.

Understanding how to skillfully navigate a powerboat and having a deep awareness of marine environments are crucial not only for the safety of those on board but also for preserving the delicate balance of our marine ecosystems.
